Ambient Light, a Low-Cost Light Meter
PHYSICAL COMPUTING / SMART DEVICES
A small low-cost prototype, shown here, measured the amount of ambient light in a given environment at a steady time interval. When the object is plugged in, it is both powered and connected to the Internet, allowing people to visualize light activity remotely from a web browser.
This was originally created as a platform for experimentation and the applications can range from power saving within the home to agriculture, studying optimal light exposure during different times of day, seasons, and so on.
